DR STRINGS

drI’m deeply honored to be part of the DR HANDMADE STRINGS family.

I’ve been using PURE BLUES™ bass strings as my string of choice for a year and I couldn’t be happier with the sound and feel.

“DR’s PURE BLUES™ bass strings featuring QUANTUM-Nickel™ alloy offers players a smoother feeling bass string with deep low end, enhanced mids, tons of punch and bright, clear highs. Hand wound on round cores, PURE BLUES™ bass strings combine a fat, warm punch with an edge especially designed for the modern bassist. PURE BLUES™ strings provide more output, more power and more top end clank than traditional nickel wrapped bass strings.”

The general sound of the album is a blend of jazz-fusion, funk, gospel and R&B influenced by many musicians from Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten all the way to Snarky Puppy, Dave Weckl and Chick Corea.

“The Leslie Johnson Project is passionate, funky and forward-leaning music firmly rooted in jazz and funk.”
